BIOGRAPHY:
Dr Day
Graduated with Honours from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in
May 1989.
He
completed his Neurosurgical training at University of Texas, Southwestern
Medical Centre, Parkland and Dallas Children™s Hospitals, Penn State University
Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania in June 1996. Pursuing
further expertise in cerebrovascular surgery led him to Sydney in May of 1993
to undertake a position as a Neurovascular fellow with Professor Michael Morgan
at the University of Sydney and Royal North Shore Hospital.
In
July 1996, on completion on his Neurosurgical training he joined Tri-State
Neuroscience Center, Huntington, West Virginia and developed a comprehensive
adult and paediatric Neurosurgical practice including appointments as Clinical
Instructor, Marshall University School of Medicine, physician reviewer West
Virginia State Medical Institute and Clinical Director, St. Mary™s Hospital
Stroke Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological
Surgery and following exacting American Neurosurgical Board standards, he has
successfully passed the recertification Board exams required every 10
years. With a passion for and active involvement in providing education
for medical, nursing and allied health care students, Dr Day enrolled at the
University of Wollongong and has successfully complete a Graduate
Certificate in Medical Education in 2018.
