BIOGRAPHY:
A conscientious and reliable General Surgeon with an interest in
Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgery, currently employed at the King™s College
Hospital NHS Trust, Princess Royal University Hospital, UK, in the capacity of
Senior Fellow in the Colorectal Surgery Unit.
My career has spanned 9 years of structured postgraduate training
and work, at prestigious institutions in Egypt, Oman and the UK, encountering
several excellent consultants and staff with variable backgrounds and
experiences, which has equipped me with the necessary broad knowledge and
skills base needed for me to be confident and safe in my daily practice
involving patient interactions, clinical decision making and surgical
procedures.
I was very fortunate to be accepted into the Oman Medical
Specialty Board - General Surgery Residency Programme (ACGME-I accredited, 5
year structured programme), considering it is very competitive to get into.
During this period, my work has involved daily ward rounds,
running outpatient clinics, performing and assisting in a wide range of
emergency and elective surgical operations, as well as teaching and supervision
of Medical Students and Junior Staff.
Among the privileges that were bestowed upon me, were the Best
Resident Award, the Executive Chief Resident Post and Resident representative
in the ACGME-I Accreditation process which we successfully achieved in June
2016.
I have developed interest and experience in General Laparoscopic
and Colorectal Surgery which have been a focus of my work for the past 2-3
years while I worked in a very busy Colorectal Surgery Unit.
I currently perform a variety of Colorectal procedures
independently or under supervision, including Laparoscopic Right, Left and
Total(mainly for FAP) Colectomies, Anterior Resections, Lap TMEs and Abdomino-
Perineal Resections(2 teams), Perineal Rectal Prolapse procedures in addition
to common Proctology and General surgeries (with an interest in minimally
invasive hernia repairs).
