Mark pursued his bachelor’s
degree in health sciences at McMaster university. Driven to address the health
inequalities he saw in his communities growing up, Mark pursued his medical
degree at the University of Ottawa. He hasa special interest in rural,
Indigenous, and addictions medicine. He has travelled to remote northern First
Nations reserves for the past seven years, living on reserve for weeks while
leading support programs. Combining this work with his passion for research, he
haspublishednumerous papers and presented at conferences onHIV care, patient
engagement, and First Nations health. His research interests include HIV health
and thyroid nodule ablation, as well as patient engagement and First Nations
health.
